Lord Jayko | Lego Golden Knight

Customized Castle Minifig: Lord Jayko

 

Now as a Lego collector and minifig maker I was quite pleased to see that Jayko made it up in the ranks of Knights Kingdom (in summary he started off as a plain old soldier with his mates Danju, Rascus and Sanits (the "Power Ranger" Knights). They took on this bad dude called Vladek and won. The King at the time recognized their bravery and promoted them in Peerage to SIr's. Then the king decided he'd retire and Jayko was awarded the Crown. So to tie up the end of the Knights Kingdom II story line they gave us an "older" Jayko with gold torso armour on Castle Set 8823 (Mistlands Tower). (The fig itself was a bit ordinary and I was a bit disheartened at the quality of the graphic on it so it got shelved, until now...).

 

This year we were given a new character as part of the current Castle Fantasy Era "The Golden Knight" which came on the set 7079 (Drawbridge Defense). I figured it would be a great opportunity to revisit King Jayko and give him the outfit he deserved. I also touched up the Falcon print on the body armour. Now it's coloured in "within the lines". The dark blue cape and plume pay homage to his original blue (in the background).
