Una mañana en... - Puerto Cisnes (Patagonia Chile)
Puerto Cisnes es un poblado costero 200 kms al norte de la Ciudad de Coyhaique y a 32 kilómetros del cruce con la Carretera Austral, en la Región de Aysén. Se encuentra ubicado en la bahía del Canal Puyuhuapi, junto a la desembocadura del río Cisnes y frente al Parque Nacional Isla Magdalena, en un paisaje de ensueño junto al mar.
El pueblo surgió con el auge de la pesca artesanal en los fiordos y canales de la Patagonia hace mas de 40 años atras. Inicialmente el villorrio no tenia mas de 500 habitantes, en su mayoría pescadores nómades procedentes de la Isla de Chiloe que recorrían los canales, fiordos e islas tras los cardumenes de peces cada temporada, tan cual como lo hacían las antiguas tribus canoeras Tehuelches. Hasta la construcción de la Carretera Austral no había otra forma de llegar que no fuese por mar. En la actualidad muchos de esos pescadores se establecieron y Puerto Cisnes hoy sobrepasa los 3.000 habitantes. La pesca sigue siendo la principal actividad económica pero la gran cantidad de turistas en verano y los avances en urbanización en los últimos años han estimulado a los habitantes estables a ofrecer servicios de hospedaje y gastronomía. Indudablemente los mayores atractivos son la belleza del entorno natural casi intocado, Isla Magdalena, las coloridas embarcaciones de pescadores en la bahia y la curiosidad de ofrecer un balneario cuya playa es considerada la ultima de la Patagonia Chilena, para quienes se atrevan…
La Carretera Austral es uno de los mayores atractivos de la Patagonia chilena. Esta larga carretera que nació como un sendero de colonización a fines del siglo XX, actualmente es una ruta turística de un creciente interés para viajeros y aventureros de todo el mundo que quieran recorrer la salvaje belleza patagónica. Puerto Cisnes is a coastal town 200 km north of the City of Coyhaique and 32 km from the junction with the Carretera Austral, in the Region of Aysén. It is located in the bay of the Canal Puyuhuapi, next to the mouth of the river Cisnes and in front of the National Park Isla Magdalena, in a dream landscape next to the sea.
The town emerged with the rise of artisanal fishing in the fjords and canals of Patagonia more than 40 years ago. Initially, the village had no more than 500 inhabitants, most of them nomadic fishermen from the Island of Chiloe who crossed the channels, fjords and islands seeking fish schools every season, just as the ancient Tehuelches canoes tribes did. Until the construction of the Carretera Austral, there was no other way to get there than to go by sea. At present many of these fishermen were established and Puerto Cisnes today surpasses the 3,000 inhabitants. Fishing is still the main economic activity but the large number of tourists in summer and the advances in urbanization in recent years have stimulated stable inhabitants to offer lodging and gastronomy services.
