The Old Vacation Spot
My uncle once had a trailer on the Rainbow Flowage, near Lake Tomahawk, WI; which we'd vacation and fish at every summer. Never really caught anything besides bullhead and the occasional perch, but the bonfires and marshmallows were always fun. There were a few times where we brought our bikes up and rode around the park, jumping off the potholes in the dirt road. The road the park is on also had a steep hill which we'd ride down and get some decent speed; the return trip back up always sucked.
My cousins owned the blue trailer near the center - they introduced me to my favorite candy: Swedish Fish. My uncle's trailer in which we stayed at is next to it, on the right - kind of obscured by the trees. He finally sold it and his boat sometime after 2005, and passed soon afterward. It's a shame we couldn't take it; he practically would've given them to us.
An old lady named Charmaigne owned the Rainbow Shores Supper Club; the yellow building on the left. It used to, and apparently serves food again, now - but I only vaguely remember eating there. She used to let us play pool and Foosball while my uncle or parents sat at the bar. Never gave us shit for being there. Wonder if she's still alive.
The last time we were here was 2009; will probably check it out again this summer.
