Camp
I went for a walk around Grayslake the other day, and on a whim decided to poke around a vacant lot on the corner of 83 and Washington.
Previously, some houses and farmland occupied the site, but they were demolished within the last 5 years, with the intention of building an office strip. For whatever reason (economy), the deal fell through, and the land's been up for sale ever since.
Not expecting much, I wandered over to the east end of the lot, near a creek. As I rounded the pile of rubble, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw this... what I am positive is a homeless person's campsite.
For awhile I kept a distance and remained silent, but later determined it was deserted. From the looks of things, it hasn't been abandoned for long, if it's even abandoned at all.. you'd think the tent would've been destroyed in the snowstorm.
Fortunately its owner was nowhere in sight, so I snapped a few pics and got the hell out. Wish I got some better pics, but didn't want to hang around here for obvious reasons.
