The closure of this Montgomery Ward in the 80s began the mall's death-spiral.

 

Afterward, it went through the horrid paint scheme you now see, a name change, and an addition of a fast-food joint with a full-blown drive-thru next to Penneys. The mall finally was shuttered in the early 21st century.
