Montgomery Ward Court

Wards left Belvidere in 1987 for Lakehurst, and the mall slid into decline. The anchor stayed empty for nearly 10 years before Builder's Square moved in, and shortly after that, the whole chain went belly-up. Not long afterward, The Home Depot moved in and has operated ever since.

 

I am not sure, but it would make the most sense to say the Ward's entrance was sealed up as part of the late-90s remodeling, as that is the same time when Home Depot came in. If not Wards, then Builders Square did some major remodeling, because the exterior is nearly completely un-recognizable from this early-80s view:
