Fat-Cat Prototype [RETIRED]
Scratch-build completed in February 2010. Built with mostly parts from my wrecked Estes Phoenix. Fins are custom-made. Took a week to paint.
Unfortunately, it has a design flaw that was my bad; the wood grain flows with the rocket and not the angled edge of the fin, so it will break fins easily. On its second flight it broke a fin off right along the wood grain as feared.
Rather than strip, rebuild, and repaint the fins, I am going to retire this model for display purposes, and build a second Fat-Cat using parts from the Executioner. This model will be stripped of its recovery devices and nose weight, but will otherwise remain intact.
