OMNI Superstore

OMNI was Dominick's attempt to compete with Cub Foods that was launched in 1986. It was essentially a 24-hour warehouse supermarket.

 

Safeway acquired Dominicks in 1997, and all 17 OMNI Superstores were converted to Dominick's.

 

This bag came from the Round Lake Beach, IL store; I remember the huge OMNI sign and canopy when my mom would take me there in the mid-late 90s. It spent 10 years as a Dominick's before shutting down in 2007.
