Old Round Lake Beach Wal*Mart
The original Wal-Mart opened at the Mallard Creek shopping center in the mid-1980s, and will be closing later this month while a new one opens just north.
The closure of this Walmart will mark the end of Mallard Creek as its other anchor; Dominick's (former OMNI Superstore) closed about 2 years ago. I've heard more condos will be going in here.
Lots of memories here.
UPDATE: Within a week the signage came down revealing this storefront was once brown. The entire store has since received some odd "pastel-tannish" paint color.
UPDATE 2015: Demolished to build Meijer.
