Carson's Was For Me

Only look I got at the old Carson Pirie Scott at Evergreen Plaza; their first branch store, built in 1954. Pretty much down to this last wall and conjoined entrance to the old Evergreen Plaza office tower. Fortunately Carson's remains in the neighborhood, in a fancy new store built adjacent to the old one.

With State Street redeveloped and this store now torn down, the oldest surviving Carson's is the Victor Gruen-designed store at the former Woodmar Mall site in Hammond, Indiana.
