1984 Pontiac Fiero 2+2 Prototype

An engineering test to see if it would be feasible to stretch the Fiero's space frame. This began as one of the first dozen or so cars off the line in late-1983 and originally had notchback body panels. The fastback and aero panels similar to the production Fiero GT came later. Being an 84, this car would have also come with the Iron Duke I4, but was later swapped for a 2.8L V6. The car was auctioned off by GM amid their bankruptcy-era cleanout of the Heritage Collection.

The stretched center console includes a (non-functioning) second radio head unit. The seats are not those of a Fiero but are likely prototypes for the F-body. None of the seat belts are functional. Not pictured is the steering wheel with audio controls in the center... also sourced from an F-body.

No, there is no legroom at all back there.
