A Tale of Three Banks

Three large bank buildings - past or present - stand near the intersection of Genesee and Washington...

 

Waukegan Building (1925)

Originally built for the Waukegan National Bank; then occupied by the Citizens National Bank through most of the 1930s, and finally retail and professional offices until 1985. Currently vacant.

 

First National Bank of Waukegan (1925)

Oldest financial institution in Lake County; present-day Associated Bank branch.

 

Waukegan State Bank Building (unknown)

I've been meaning to research this one... exterior was heavily modified (butchered, big-time..) sometime in the second half of the 20th century - possibly in 1990 when it became a First Midwest Bank branch, which it currently operates as.
