Dixie Square Mall 10/30/63
A very-early, rejected layout for Dixie Square Mall; Harvey, IL. This design is remarkably similar to both Belvidere (1965) and Mid-Cities (1968 - later known as the Lakeview Centre) Malls. I wonder if the design shifted from this straight, symmetrical layout to the final "L" shape once Woolworth and other anchors officially got on-board, though I imagine Penneys and Wards were already in-mind when they drew this up.
This was recovered from the mall in October 2010 and was originally part of Brian Ulrich's loot; I got it from him when he moved to RVA. Thanks!
