Day 281 - Maxïmo Park... Again!
So it has finally happened. After seeing them play live for the sixth time, my wife's favourite band has now take the title as my most-seen band.
We saw them at Manchester Apollo and they played an absolutely brilliant set - probably the best of the six I've seen. We hadn't been able to get ticket straight away, so unfortunately ended up in seats in the circle (rather than our preferance of standing downstairs with the rabble). The atmosphere upstairs was a little more restrained than we're used to, but in a funny way that added to it. As the gig went on, more and more bums left seats and started to wiggle about to the music.
You may be wondering about the reflection on this photograph. This came from a highly polished banister right infront our seats. You may also notice on the top left that Maximo had introduced a brass section (for some songs). I felt the brass occasionally jarred against the guitar sound, but over all the effect was pretty damn ace.
Now... I just need to wait for Orbital or Gogol Bordello to tour again in order to even out these stats!!!
