Hump-nosed Lizard - Lyriocephalus scutatus
The eccentric Hump-nosed Lizard lives in the moisture, lowland forests of Sri Lanka, where it is endemic. It can be found, as this one was, perched on the trunk of a tree or other vertical branches. The males are bright green and use their yellow throat to communicate or to make themselves look bigger. This male was found in the wild and photographed insitu. Unfortunately, due to habitat loss and poaching, this species is in decline, and as such it is recognized as Near Threatened.
One flash with a small rectangular soft box above the lizard, triggered by a radio transmitter.
