Life in Pieces

We used to sit for hours, her and I, sorting through bins of bits and pieces that we had collected over the years. Trying to pick just the right bead or dinker to add to our latest piece. Something that matched, but also excited you, surprised you that they worked together so well.

Since then, over the past few years, I've collected pieces. I've filled my pockets with lessons and memories. Physical, yes, but spiritual as well. I edit myself and my life just like I do these necklaces. Finding what works for me, who I want to be, and where I want to go. I am always evolving and changing. Exploring new avenues and ideas until the puzzle comes together and seems to make sense, even if just for a moment.

I'm not sure what made me leave behind this clustery charm style I loved so much. Maybe I thought I knew better. Perhaps I thought my new found metals skills topped a more immature artistic style. Much like a teenager that knows everything about life, but has yet to really experience any of it.

But it's all come full circle. I'm back now, in my own skin, feeling as "me" as ever. I'm shining a new, more seasoned, light on these babes, and I couldn't be happier about it.

Bit and pieces, collected, skills honed, years and years of work all bundled up in a special piece. Don't worry I made a bunch, and they are each as unique as you!
