The two soldiers lying on the left in front of the bombed out tactical vehicle are male and female amputees who play the role of freshly wounded amputee soldiers in the scenario. Blood squirts from their legs, they scream for medics, in part so that the first time the trainees coming through see an amputee it won't be in combat.
