Kaali meteor crater

Said to be the world's best preserved meteor crater in an accessible location. Estimated dates vary but the 400 BC theory seems to be gaining ground. Former Estonian president and writer Lennart Meri believed the impact had cultural repercussions from the Baltic to the Mediterranean. There are references to Saaremaa Island burning in Estonian and Finnish folk songs and mysterious mentions in legends of the sun visiting the earth.
