Columbia's best swim.
South side of the Gervais Street bridge. It's convenient, accessible, and free. Plenty of cold, clear water, direct from Lake Murray. (See the note... the graffiti on the support span was apparently put there 36 years ago, in early March 1971. These adventurous boys almost certainly approached the bridge in a boat during a flood...otherwise it's way too dangerous to be climbing down from the road, or too hard trying to climb up the support. Upon further observation, I have noticed that the brother (John) of the first signer (Dwight Adkins) appears vertically on the left side of the inscription. Further, I maintain that the inscription "FBI" may perhaps indicate that rather poorly documented, but surely widespread institution known as "Female Body Inspectors".)
