Beauty In The Rain
Taken during one rainy afternoon, at Queen Elizabeth Park, Vancouver, B.C. Canada
There are about 40,000 cherry trees, in 50 different varieties, planted in Vancouver. Basically one can easily spot cherry trees on many of the streets in the city. I was fortunate, both weather-wise and timing-wise, to be able to witness some of the incredibly beautiful full blooms during my 10-day stay in Vancouver in April 2014. There are "cherry blossoms scouts" in the city who volunteer to report the status of the cherry blossoms at the different locations and there is an updated map on the Internet showing the details of the blooms reported, including photos, name of species, address, and expected blooming dates. That has helped a lot... and now I know the real meaning of "full blooms":-)
