Garbage City Boy

Garbage City is part of Cairo's Orthodox Christian sector. One of the largest and oldest churches in Cairo is the Cave Church, actually built into the side of a cliff. Garbage City is next to it and it's residence spend their lives sorting through garbage. They collect it from the rest of the city, sort the valuables out, then get rid of the rest. The people aren't necessarily poor, but have adapted to this role and have become quite good at it. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the people are very nice and hospitable. I had wanted to take this boys picture early on in the day, but he didn't want me to. I didn't push it, but as I was leaving Garbage City, he approached and told me it was okay. Cairo, Egypt.
