Does this sunset make you thorny?
I was commissioned by the local Recreation & Park District to take photographs of the area to be used by the parks, city and other municipal government-based groups and organizations. The goal would be to create images that represents the city and area while giving it a sense of beauty and uniqueness. The problem is, I live in the suburbs and stucco houses and mini malls do not make for good magazine covers. So this shot took a little effort. Photographed in the Santa Monica Mountains, the local National Recreation area has both dramatic mountains and evidence of an arid climate. One photo was taken for the mountain and another for the cactus, and then combined. No other funny business.
