She Didn't Believe

We used to have this running joke that I was only allowed to "chase sunsets" three times a month. Well now that is more like 3 times per year. A couple weeks back I saw the clouds. I anticipated the color. So I told my wife, "I'm burning one of those Hall Passes!" She said it looked like it had potential, so she agreed to come with me.

I aimed the GPS toward the beach. "But you always go to the beach. You should try finding a new foreground..." Okay... went up to the local national park. I knew a lone oak tree that might work. She hung out with Gavin in the slightly-illegally parked car, and I ran with my camera and tripod to the oak tree in the middle of the grassy field while the color began. I had everything ready... but the sky never really exploded. I had hoped it would envelop the entire sky and light it up, but instead got just a little. I used CS6 just a little bit to help bring out what was already there, but unfortunately, this was it.

It's good to fail sometimes because it makes success that much sweeter.

Have a great weekend everyone.
