Studio stack: Carpenter Queen
Camponotus herculaneus
This ant crawled out of my backpack after I had been out on a field excursion last year. It was in pretty bad shape and I didn't feel too bad putting it in the freezer.
This specimen was slightly larger than usual – possibly a male? it's a queen!
128 frames stacked in Zerene Stacker.
Schneider-Kreuznach Apo-Componon 40/2.8 HM reversed on bellows.
