The ever evolving setup

**Note: If you're interested in the studio setup I use for high magnification photos, see here for instance.

Here is one incarnation of my rapidly evolving macro setup for use with bellows lenses such as Leitz Milar 65mm or RMS mounted lenses such as Zeiss Luminar or microscope objectives.

This one is a couple of weeks old and already feels outdated. I'll post a more updated version when the setup has settled down!

I'm showing you this in the hope of inspiring more people to experiment with unusual setups

Please note that, this kind of setup doesn't need to be expensive – on the contrary it's often cheaper to put together a rig like this than to buy even one lens new! I get most of my gear from eBay; there are enormous amounts of high quality optics and gear produced in the past 100 years that can be put to good use still!
