Balancing Rock ........

This is on top of granite rock formation The Pryamids in Girraween NP

The moon rose about 1am and then the cloud moved in

I was grateful that I had most of the night cloud free after some recent battles with fog , my favourite ingredient for sunrises

I recently acquired the Samyang/Rokinon 14mm

It all manual which makes no difference at night but the lens is $2000 cheaper with the same quality glass and considerably smaller and lighter without all the automatic goodies inside

I took two cameras three lenses and two tripods up the steep climb warm clothing food and water .... no time for sleeping

I did some timelapse shooting on one camera and chased other scenes with the other

I have found that it is easier to capture the Milky Way after 11pm as it is a lot lower to the horizon

The results looked good on the LCD so I couldn`t wait to have a look and put a pano together well after a good sleep
