Gab Gab Crab...

When visiting family stationed on Guam back in 2018, I became fascinated with the tragedy that is its history during WWII. Carved bunkers in the hillsides and beaches, projectile impacts all around them. Even the beaches were primarily made up of large chunks of wave rolled coral, dislodged from the bottom during the bombardment and liberation by American forces in July of 1944.

The large coral chunks often made it difficult to see the very small hermit, and in this case, a Ghost crab mingled in amongst the coral.

If it were remotely possible to read a facial expression on a crab, I’m sure this one is saying “Please don’t step on me you big buffoon!”
