When I finished my "A" levels I hitched to "The Bath Festival of Blues and Progressive Music", the precursor of the Glastonbury Festival. Many bands, but some still remembered today: Pink Floyd, Jefferson Airplane and Led Zeppelin. Coincidentally I now live within a few miles of Glastonbury. That summer I worked 60 hours a week for £22 in a dairy. The high-pitched noise of the bottle-washing machine may have contrbuted to my partial deafness later in life.
