Reportedly one of the first installations of CTC in this country was a 20-mile stretch of Pere Marquette Railway main line between Flint and Saginaw. Completed in 1928, PM chose to put in the CTC signaling on the single-track route instead of double tracking the line. Here southbound train Y119 out of Saginaw is mid-way through their run to Flint and passing a unique signal of which the top head looks like a replacement and the bottom looks original. Numerous new Safetran-type intermediate signals have been installed on the northern one-third of the line.
