Shenandoah Valley RR - PRLX 7471 South symbol SVLOC, crossing the North River near Mt Crawford, Virginia_

Wild Mary lives! The SVRR hosted a celebrity of sorts as Western Maryland painted SD40 7471 led the SV Local on their return trip to Staunton. This engine is an original WM locomotive that was part of a five-unit order fulfilled by EMD in 1966. It is now owned by Precision Locomotive Services LLC, a Staunton based business that leases and takes care of industrial locomotives in the surrounding area. This was a shake down run for the 7471 that is soon going on lease to a power short Buckingham Branch RR in Virginia.

A big thanks to all involved in this event!
