A former Great Northern GP30 leads Laurel to Great Falls train no. 209 as it heads upgrade out of the Yellowstone River valley north of Laurel. The 2213 went on to be re-built as GP39M 2814. I had been dispatching out of Billings for all of a month. Wildfire smoke was wreaking havoc with the Big Sky that afternoon.
