Westbound grabbing some orders from the OP at East Cabin.
Illinois Central trains also operated through here for 12-miles eastward to Portage where the two roads went their separate ways to Chicago. Today this would be the CN (IC) and the BNSF.
East Cabin was staffed by IC levermen. Inside the small one level structure was a small CTC machine and a few armstrong levers as well. On June 7, 1994, East Cabin was closed and control transferred to the BNSF dispatch center in Ft Worth, Texas.
I was inside a few times but not smart enough to take any photos.
