OHCR 4218 symbol ECL, Nielston Line Crossover, Columbus, Ohio_

The East Columbus Local, or ECL as it is known, is seen shoving loads of salt to the American Rock Salt unloading area. Note the large piles of the stuff in the distance. GP30M leading a former New Castle Industrial RR Super-7. This area on the near east side of town was once covered with yards of the Pennsylvania Railroad. The tracks curving to the top of the frame was once the Big Four's main line to Cleveland that at the time of this photo was down to being an industrial lead just a few miles in length. The tracks leading off to the right was once the joint Pennsy/B&O line to Newark, Ohio.
