With 37 loads of coal in tow, a pair of GEs start down the steep grade from Rainelle to the former C&O main at Meadow Creek located deep in the valley created by the New River. One of many coal producing branch lines in the state, this was part of the original Nicholas, Fayette, and Greenbrier Railroad (NF&G) named for the three coal producing counties in which it operated.
