Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens aerial image - built in Torquay 1878 - 1881 and moved to Yarmouth 1904

Aerial view of the Great Yarmouth Winter Gardens - awaiting over £16 million worth of renovations starting in 2023 and 'expecting' to be completed by 2026. The Winter Gardens were designed by John Watson & William Harvey and built in Torquay over three years commencing 1878 before being moved to Yarmouth in 1904. It was bought for £1300 and transported from Torquay to Great Yarmouth by barge. It is the UK's last surviving Victorian seaside cast iron and glass winter garden. It is going to be a sparkly bright building, filled with green plants, cushions and happy, young families drinking expensive coffee.
