Wymondham Abbey aerial image - February 2014 - A

Wymondham Abbey - aerial image. Once a Benedictine priory founded in 1107 by William d'Aubigny - Chief Butler to King Henry I. The tall octagonal tower held the monks' bells. The taller, square tower held the townspeople's bells. When they played at the same time it was called stereotinnitus from the Latin: painful ringing in both ears ... which today, gives us "stereo." Read my image text and there's no limit to the sofistication wot it will get you.
