My Bag

Going clockwise from top left:

The Mirror of Ink by Jorges Luis Borges, Pocket Penguins 70th Anniversary Edition.

The Spacehounds of IPC by E.E. 'Doc' Smith. Favorite line so far: "Clam it, ape, or I'll climb up you like a squirrel!"

A couple of pencils, a couple of sharpeners and a half-empty box of Nurophen Cold and Flu.

A post-it pad and pen I keep meaning to give as a gift.

That black dot by the pen is the lens from a crappy 35mm point-and-shoot camera that I'm using in my ongoing attempts to attach an M42 mount 50mm lens to my k800i phone's camera.

Beside it are a couple of bookmarks that I never use and a travel tub of sunscreen from way back when the sun used to shine.

A bunch of pencils, pens, markers, oil pastels, black ink and some string from when I used the bag for carrying my college stuff. Some of it hasn't been used in five years or so.

Bag within a bag! My camera bag, a Lowe Pro something-something containing various rolls of film and an 80-205mm Olympus lens.

My Praktica FX. I'm learning how to operate a full-manual camera properly.

Beside that on the blue bag is an Arduino microcontroller. My local Hackerspace runs a weekly Arduino and Processing workgroup. I may have accidentally left the built-like-a-tank Praktica on top of it though, hope it's ok.

Below that is my pencil case for use at Pubscrawl (folk meet up to consume alcohol and draw things), then an almost-empty antiperspirant and water.

Green Tea bag and a small pile of Stuff I Need To Sort Through. Birthday cards, bills, etc.

beside that is a pile of misc. stuff from the bottom of the bag that needs to be dumped (including an expired car tax disc. What the hell? I don't drive, let alone OWN a car...)

Bottom-left is a Boots CD of film scans that need looking at, then going up, Volume One of Doom Patrol (Grant Morrison's run) and, heh, Apparat. Lending them to a guy who needs to read more Morrison and Ellis.

And the bag! A 45 Liter Kestra that's mostly still intact after much abuse.

Below that are a couple of sketchbooks for Pubscrawl and a moleskine squared mini notebook from a three pack and a moleksine mini accordion folder. I tend to jot things on fiddly scraps of paper so it's proven to be quite handy.

Stupid Sony-Ericsson Proprietary Connector to USB cable.

And finally, a pair of wrist bands and gloves for medieval weaponry class, though we've only been using training sticks so far so I haven't had a chance to wear them yet.

So that's it, a horrible train-wreck of stuff I mostly barely use. There should be a cheap multitool in there somewhere but I must have misplaced it at some point. I usually have a messenger bag but that's currently holding the overspill from the last time I went through my jacket pockets... Yeah. My back hates me.
