Muiden - Westbatterij

This small, 19th century tower battery, stands on the mouth of the Vecht river, in the Dutch town of Muiden. Together with the medieval Muiderslot castle on the other side of the vecht, and its fortifications, it guarded the Vecht estuary and played an important role inclosing the defense of Amsterdam.
