A good pair of boots
A good pair of boots prior three years of use and abuse.
These boots, a pair of Meindl Pro Professional, held up very well even though the care of them got neglected at times, though at the other hand they are quite expensive.
I had these since a few years earlier and had them through three survey seasons.
When this photo was taken I am waiting with a few people from the local land office (Lantmäteriet, Leksand) for a demonstration of the new Leica GPS that was acquired for the land office the Leica Viva GS15 with a CS15 handheld computer.
Fortunately, when we started working on the project I was involved with we used the much lighter Leica Viva GS08 and CS10. A would guess they weighed in at about 1/3 to 1/2 of the weight of the other combination, and had the center of gravity below shoulder height. Needless to say I have never really liked the GS15, mostly due to that high center of gravity.
