Mom with her microwave - 1974
My mom was an early adopter of the microwave oven. She was so proud of her Amana Radarange that I thought I ought to photograph her with it for posterity. Unlike today's microwaves, the Radarange weighed a ton. My mom used hers well into the '80s before buying a modern unit. The Radarange still worked though, so she relegated it to the basement of one of her rental buildings, where she had a workshop and sort of a getaway. It didn't make the move to Louisville, but I'm sure it was working until that day.
