Parents and Photography

I believe that many people get into photography not to shoot the next Vans advert or the latest trends at fashion week but to simply make better photographs of their kids.

 

And like many, I am one of them. I want the girls to be able to look back at all the goofy photos we've made and say, "If dad just feathered the light just a tad bit more" to "Totally soft. He so missed the focus point."

 

At least for today Mouse Girl was gracious enough to stand in while I played with high speed sync. With two soft boxes over head providing the illumination and me on my belly we attempted to blend ambient and flash together with the aperture wide open.
