Dirty Gray

Wanted to mess around today with a dirty gray on white photo. So I started by underexposing the white table to get me the color I was looking for. Once I was happy with that I started to light the chocolate covered almonds starting from camera right.

Once I felt I got enough contrast between the top of the almonds and the table I took another softbox and placed it camera left to slightly lift the shadows caused the the softbox on the right.

Wanting to break up the sea of gray I then decided to gaffer a speedlite on a chair and have it cut it's light right across the top portion of the frame.

I admit it's a bit funky but hey, we all need to experiment.
