Youse know you just can't let anyone diss you like that. Youse gotta come back hard!
Now I've never did this before so it was all new to me but I figured I needed A) no ambient and B) a restrictive light source to highlight the water drop. So I first started on the ambient part and dialed in my camera's max shutter speed and choose an aperture that would give me as much DOF as possible without having my flash working at 1/1.
Next was making sure the light didn't go all over the place so I placed a snoot/grid over the 430EX and adjusted the light to fall where I would want the water drop to be. I then angled it down a tad to have it spill on the fabric flower a bit.
All that was left was getting water to drip from my finger (I tried a squeeze bottle and a drinking straw but couldn't really time it just right with them) and anticipating when the drop would get in the frame and in the beam of light. I did about 5 takes till I got one that I liked.
Strobist info:
1 430EX 1/2 power snoot/grid camera left pointed at void above flower allowing some spill on the flower itself
Camera settings:
1/200 f/8 ISO200
Lens used:
Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM
