Wii setup shot

Sorry for the quick daily photo but some friends came in from out of town a little bit earlier than I thought and we still need to goto the airport to pick up some others. When you live in Vegas the last things your friends want to do is hang out while you do your daily. And no brining your gear with you while out would not work (I asked already).

I needed to think quick and grabbed the first thing that I saw and decided to do a coffee table reflection type of photo. I think this is one of the great benefits of doing a daily as you can pull out things that you've done in the past and setup will be fairly quick.

Since I knew I wanted to kill the ambient I dialed in the max sync speed of my camera then choose an aperture that would give me a good DOF for the shooting distance I was at.

I placed the Wii at the far end of the table to maximize the amount of reflection I would get. Then I placed a 430EX in a shoot through at the other end to light the Wii.

Strobist info:

1 430EX 1/8 power shoot through umbrella high camera left

Camera setting:

1/250 f/4.0 ISO 100

Lens used:

Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM

Of course while I was doing this my friends were giving me a hard time.

Completed shot can be found here.
