Mother and child
yesterday morning in Pondicherry, when having tea at a road side shop, a very colorful family was sitting out side a shuttered shop, and there was this little child huddled like a Kangaroo in the mothers saree,.
I asked if I can take a picture and when I was taking the photo the child turned to me and smiled, with hands reaching out, it made me happy, I am glad that I shot this digital, because i could share with them a frozen moment and they were happy to see the photo on the screen.
Now I am in chennai, sitting in front of my computer and writing this.
I don't know what their names are or what they do or why they were there, But we were part of a photo taking ritual, taking a photo of a person and showing the photograph to the person, is a ritual that bonds people in a different way.
I may not know much about them but now that I have taken their picture they are " in" me.
