Built in late 1944, it never saw service in the European Theater. It was assigned to the Japan Theater for the remainder of the war. It was later used for, photo-mapping, air-sea rescue, and as a drone mother before military retirement in 1959. She then worked in forest fire fighting duty for another 18 years before joining the Arizona Wing of the Commemorative Air Force. The name was chosen through a contest and the nose art is of that most famous pin-up, Betty Grable.
