We Caught 'Em....
While leaving home at 0500 we heard the CN 2666 receive a warrant from Spaulding to East Iowa. We saw his headlight when we crossed the tracks on Stearns Rd. My son asked if we were going to wait for him and I, eager to get down to the KB&S, said, "No, we'll see some CN later". Well later came about 12 hours and 190 miles further south. We followed the NS from Danville to Tolono most of the afternoon. As we rolled up to the CN crossing, the gates went down (see Doh!). Low and behold, the lead unit was the CN 2666 and we were on the wrong side again! Once he passed, my son said, "Let's catch him". So we did, just north of Tuscola.
