The Diary of a Hotel Addict
Room 3306: Sheikh Zayed skyline, Dubai
Twilight scene of Dubai's main artery of Sheikh Zayed Road as seen from my room on the 33rd floor of the Jumeirah Emirates Towers Hotel, the current 4th tallest building in Dubai.
On the left hand side is the world's tallest structure, Burj Dubai, finally saw it with my eyes. Unfortunately my astonishment to this new wonder of the world was compromised by the emerging shadow of the 80 storey One Central Park Tower by Britain's most celebrated architect, Sir Norman Foster, which has now risen to half of its maximum height.
At the center is the 333m, 72 storey Rose Tower, which is recently completed and featuring the latest world's tallest hotel at 333m (Previous title belonged to the Burj al Arab at 321m), operated by the Dubai-based Rotana Hotels.
On the right hand side is The Tower building, one of Dubai's most critically-acclaimed skyscrapers, built at a height of 243m with a distinctive pyramid-shaped roof, which glows at night as a Dubai landmark with Arabic flair.
Notes:
#1 (#1): Number in bold refers to current ranking (built), while number in brackets refers to ranking in the future when all under-constructed buildings are completed, up until the year of 2012.
