Great View

I go into hospital for my dupuytren's surgery tomorrow morning at 7am. So I am trying to get all my friends trip up before I have only one hand to work with. Then I will only have right hand to work with and I am left handed!

I wish you all a very merry Christmas and I well try and keep up with looking at all of your wonderful photos, but well not be able to comment much for while.

Lake Tekapo on one of our stops on the way back to Christchurch. It was a dull overcast day but very calm and warm.

Last day of our fast trip around the South Island with my friends from the UK. November 8, 2013 Central Otago New Zealand.

Any one interested in following our trip around the South Island.. here is a map: www.wises.co.nz/l/south+island/#c/-45.149671/169.902439/14/

Situated on the shores of Lake Tekapo is the Church of the Good Shepherd, which, in 1935, was the first church built in the Mackenzie Basin. The church at Burkes Pass, St Patrick's built in 1872 was the first church built by pioneers as a joint community effort, by Anglicans

Presbyterian and Catholic settlers. Also a joint venture between Presbyterians and Anglicans, St Columba in Fairlie was built in 1879. The church at Lake Tekapo was designed by Christchurch architect R.S.D. Harman, based on sketches by a local artist, Esther Hope. The church is arguably one of the most photographed in New Zealand, and features an altar window that frames stunning views of the lake and mountains.
