this one is the newest, and for this period in my life, the most meaningful.

 

this is my rescue tattoo.

 

it's for all the cats who've been in my life, and who will be in my life. it's for harvey and smilla. for isabel. for frankie. for sarah. for buster. for atari. for floyd. for shackleton.

 

and for romeo.

 

i'm very much aware of this new presence on my arm, a newly arrived spirit.

 

i look down at him, and he looks up at me.
